Shirota will be appearing in his first horror film. "Otsuichi's story "Shinizokonai no Ao" is being turned into a movie, directed by Masaki Adachi and produced by Noriko Nishiguchi. Shirota latest drama ROOKIES airs every Saturday on TBS. The story revolves around a high school teacher and coach that tries to reform delinquents by having them join the baseball team.

From November 24th. 2007 to January 5th, 2008 Yuu will appears as Charles Lindbergh in the Take Flight Musical.

The musical Take Flight tells the inspirational stories of the pioneers of flight; The Wright brothers, Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh.
